mid-month garden, tutorial & a giveaway!

Wow, it's been a busy couple of days. The Christmas countdown has begun here at my house. Everyone is excited for winter break from both school and work.

My littlest, Andrew is so fun this year. As some of you know, he has a speech delay and isn't able to talk very well. He undergoes speech therapy weekly and has had great progress with new words and sign language lately. He is so excited about "Santa" He calls him "HoHo" lol We went shopping for a few odds and ends yesterday and while in the toy aisle he kept pointing to everything and saying HoHo. I guess he gets the basic concept. ;)

On the 15th, the mid-month garden went up at Two Peas. Wow, is it beautiful! There is so much lovely inspiration. Here are my contributions...click on the image for full credits. :)

Also this week, I had a tutorial on custom drop shadows featured on the Scrapbook Trends Blog. If you're interested in learning how to apply shadows to your own layouts, take a peek HERE. Also, if you'd just rather have someone else do the work for you....you can purchase my custom drop shadows - Subtle Shadows.

This is the layout that I completed for the tut. I used my This Year kit and a new Simple Starts template that will be released on the 22nd. (oh, and there's 2 new ones that come out!) I also have to give credit to my friend Susannah Waechter for the photography. She is an awesome photographer and very generous to let me use her work in my creations. Thanks Susannah!

Ok, last but definitely now least....Digital Scrapbooking Giveaways is giving away some of my kits today! To win Snow Day - the full kit and the Word Art add-on, take a peek HERE. Good luck!!!

10 days until Christmas!

Yep, 10 days, that's all. It will be here and gone before we know it. I am almost done with my shopping, which is an incredible feat since I just started this past Saturday. *blush* I had a hard time getting motivated this year. It just didn't quite seem like Christmas. I'm not sure why.

Sunday evening at church we had our "almost" annual Community Christmas Carol at church. It was so much fun. I love singing Christmas songs and just having that "close" and cozy feeling with my church family. I had been away from church for what seemed to be months with either I or the kids being home sick. I really missed everyone.

This week is the last week of school for the kids and of work for Nick until after the New Year. I can't wait to enjoy 2 weeks of being with my family. It's the time of year that I always look forward to. I love summer break too but it seems that unless we make specific plans to be together, everyone is so busy. In the winter it's easier to coax everyone to stay inside. ;)

We've been on a "puzzle" kick lately. I bought a few puzzles for Nick's birthday and we've been sitting around the dining room table putting them together in the evenings as a family. It's been a wonderful time to sit back and just spend time with one another. What does your family do to just be together? I would love some ideas. It's hard to find something that everyone enjoys. ;)

Well, today is Tuesday and I have quite a few new releases in my store this week. (I'm posting this just a bit early so if the kits aren't available yet, they will be shortly!)

If you need a last minute Christmas gift.....this calendar kit is the perfect solution. Just drop in your own photos and print!

Here's a great kit that you will enjoy using the whole year through. If you buy the full kit you save $4.00. :)

And, last but not least, I started a page for my store on Facebook. If you become a fan, you can get the latest information on releases, sales and even a few surprise goodies! Come visit HERE and spread the word!

These are my 1st of the month Garden Seeds for Two Peas. I really enjoyed working with these kits. Gorgeous!

The weather here is cold, cold, cold. Single digits and below zero cold. On days like this I am reminded to be thankful for my warm home and the luxury of hot cocoa, coffee and tea. ;)

How's the weather where you are? If it's warm, I'm totally jealous.

This week I had one new release for my digital store. It's called Bit of Pretty and is full of soft colors and feminine elements.

The Two Peas Creative Team has been hard at work making beautiful projects for it. Here are a few of the beautiful hybrid cards that they've made....

These 3 were made by kathyrac

and these 2 were made by Alice W.

Simply Beautiful & Joy

Another week has passed. I surely have no idea where the time goes. Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas will be here before we know it. I haven't begun decorating and/or shopping yet. I have a feeling it's going to sneak up on me again this year.

What have you done to get ready for the holidays? Have you put up your tree? Finished your shopping? Made Christmas cards? I really need to get my own butt in gear. ;)

I released 3 new digital kits this week at Two Peas In a Bucket. If you click on the layout images, you can see the full supply lists. Click on the kit previews and you'll be taken to my store. :)

new kits, new moon....what's better than that?

I have 3 new kits this week and am so excited to see the 2peas Creative Team already working to create layouts and projects with them. Here are two gorgeous pages that Wilna Furstenberg made, using my Nuts 4 U kit.

and here's one that I put together this afternoon....

Nick and I went to see New Moon this past Friday. I seem to be in the minority when I share that I didn't like it as much as Twilight.  I have to admit though that New Moon was my least favorite book too. I know, again, I'm in the minority. I can't help that I'm such an Edward fan. It's not that I like Robert Pattinson, cause I really don't think "he" is that attractive but Edward, the character? Yeah, vampires are my thing. ;)

And yes, New Moon was definitely persuasive in trying to get me to switch to team Jacob. After the haircut and all that....yeah....almost. ;)

It's Friday and that makes me smile. A weekend with my (just about) healthy family is what I need. Tonight, Nick and I are hoping to get out for a bit. Maybe dinner and a movie. I would love to see New Moon but don't want to fight the crowds to see it either. Maybe we'll go see 2012 and wait another week for that. ;)

Above are my seeds for the mid-month garden at Two Peas. For full credits, just click on the images.
